Injured Red-bellied

I have a Red-bellied coming to my home. I watched as he tried and tried to hang on to the feeder to feed, but couldn't hold on. Then I seen that his left leg is either gone all together or not used. The tail feather on the left side are also damaged. I named him THE PIRATE. He leans to his left and has a hard time taking flight, but flies fine once he is in the air. I have set him up a feeder on the picnic table. He looks up at me while he is feeding with such a look as to say thanks buddy. He comes several times a day, and I think he stays in a tree just behind the house. The blizzard dropped 16 inches or snow, and 4-5 foot drifts around here. I was out in the storm clearing snow from THE PIRATE'S feeder on and off from 5 am to 10 pm, THE PIRATE has me wrapped around his finger, lol
