First Year for Red Bellied Woodpeckers At Our Feeders!

This year, we noticed a bird that we had never before seen at our feeders. It was perched on our fence, and then flew down to the feeder. I took note of the color and markings and believe it to be a red-bellied woodpecker. I was amazed at how beautiful it was. Within a few days, we had several more visit the feeders constantly.

Now, we have at least 4 at once feeding. We have a fruit and nut mixture and black oil sunflowers seeds in the feeders they seem to gravitate toward. It seems every time I look out the window, there they are!

They are definitely something to watch. One will hang almost upside down at times. They do seem to chase off other birds that try to feed, however. I tried to get a picture, but when I got too close, they flew away, and the one picture I used the zoom on, came out too blurry.
