I laid out a small flower bed earlier this year, all was going well till I came out 1 morning and found bed full of HOLES??upto about 4lnch dia &appx.1inch; deep,my first thought was b※※※※y CATS!!then my nieghbour came out & I showed him but he said no not cats BLACKBIRDS Thinking back I had noticed 2-3 flying about recently,he said they came every year hunting for slugs&snails; and obviously found flower bed a good spot, then battle began!!I put up bird scares and all sorts fthe bed looked like a battle field sometimes I won sometimes they would win still digging holesdespite my regular filling of feeding station which the regular visitors loveAnyroad they/me called it quitsbut they still have a little rummage now & again but plants well established now so no probs. BUT I'D NEVER SEEN EXCAVATION TO THAT EXTENT BY BIRDS BEFORE WOW!!!!! I await next years battle wiv relish now I know who I`m up against[EL DIABLO All fhe best from sunny Spain Hasta luago ADIOS!!
