Fall Blue Birds and Blue Jays in Cottage Grove, MN

by John P
(Cottage Grove, MN)

We have had a small flock of Bluebirds in our yard this October. Just provide a small hanging feeder full of dried meal worms that can be found at most wild bird feed stores with a birdbath kept clean with fresh water and you are in business.

Blue Jays are also flocking to our platform feeder which I fill with unsalted in the shell peanuts which they go bonkers over! They have pouches inside their throat and store clusters of whole peanuts shells and all in their throats before flying away. A real hoot to see!!

They also appreciate clean fresh water nearby.

Hours of entertainment watching the fall Blues whether Bluebirds or Blue Jays.
