Extremely loud bird at dusk and sunrise

by Jane

I've lived in south Louisiana my whole life and I have never heard anything like this. It is an extremely loud double note call that starts around sundown and continues until full dark, then starts again just before or right at sunrise. It is unbelievably loud! I have gone outside and looked for it but we have so many trees I have been unable to locate it, but it's definitely in a tree. The call is two notes like a "wah WAH" with the second note a little more high-pitched. It repeats those two notes for 2-3 hours, 5 or 6 seconds in between each call. I've been looking up bird calls and the closest I can find is the Acadian flycatcher - it's close but not the same bird. The mystery bird's call is a little deeper and definitely louder. This has been going on for about 2 weeks and I can't sleep! I just want to find out what it is to see if I can figure out how to make it relocate.
