East Coast Australian bird

This bird seems to be alone and comes to our area each evening. It resembles a large, fat parrot with green feathers flashing blue underneath when in flight. It has a dark, black or dark grey head and an enormous red curved beak which is visible from a distance. It is much bigger than all the other local parrots such as the King parrots. It sits quietly for long periods and we have not heard it make any noise. We live at Avoca Beach in NSW. We would appreciate your help in identifying this bird.
