Early morning Lake Bird East Tennessee

by Bev
(East Tennessee )

I am hearing 7-10 calls in the distance, equally spaced apart. Sounds like Oh Oh Oh Oh.....then a 5 second pause, and repeats. When I first heard thought it was a house alarm across the lake! My husband and I both heard and hearing again this am. We've lived here for 30 years and don't recall hearing it before.

Thanks.

Depending on what time of the AM you are speaking of it could be a Great Horned owl:

If you have a local Audubon Society or a Wildlife Care CEnter nearby you might want to give them a call and ask them too.
