hi, there are a few raptors that are large, and that have yellow on part of their beak, in my field guide these birds are the northern harrier that winters in tx, gray, about 16 to 24". female looks brown.
the red shouldered hawk, 16 to 24", the red tailed hawk, 18 to 25", and the harris hawk, kind of black or dark, 18 to 23".
