It's alrady September, and I'm a little concerned that a pair of doves have taken over an empty robin's nest near my kitchen window. Is that unusual? Will the fledglings have time to mature before the cold Illinois winter arrives?
Comment Oh those Mourning Doves. They'll use a discarded nest, even a flower pot, to nest in. They have 5 or 6 broods a years, so I susbpect the fledglings will be ready before winter sets in. Happy Birding, Susan
