Dove and rain

by Paula
(Mission Viejo, CA)

There is a pair nesting, however, we are getting rain and I am worried they don't have adequate protection. What can I do or should I stay clear?

Rain and nesting doves
by: Shirley

If the mother is sitting on the nest, she will
cover the chicks or eggs with her wings. If she is off the nest, try a high cover so as to protect them and not scare the mother. Sometimes, there is nothing you can do but watch and pray.
Chicks do drown if not protected. This has been my experience. Good luck.
