The bird I saw today was very sophisticated in stance, and was a blend of pale cream, and tan. It seems it had a very organized body frame while perched. (in other words no long tale). It was probably 14-16" long. We live in Michigan. I have never seen a bird like this. We have hawks around the ponds, and I have seen vultures. THIS WAS A PRETTY ANIMAL. What do you think it was?

Sadly, I couldnt get my camera in time so .. no pictures.
