Dark brown Southern Wisconsin bird

I have a huge variety of birds here right now because of the serious drought we're experiencing, and for that reason I keep several containers of water outside for the thirsty critters. I've seen this bird around but not this close. It seems a bit dark for a female cowbird, but I took this photo through the window so the color may be off. I'm not a bird expert for sure :) Thank you!

How nice of you to think of the birds and provide water for them.

I seen one like this at our feeders this morning in southwest Wisconsin area for the first time. Not a clue what it is, hope someone can identify it for us.

It is grey with a long beak and a white ring around it's neck. The bird is about the size of a dove and I live in Florida near the Georgia line.
