thanks for the info brook. if i recall correctly, it needs to changed frequently. vasoline on the hanger will stop ants, they won,t cross it.

Roma, White cane sugar is the only sugar that is recommended to be used, not even organic sugar is recommended.

No, you shouldn't use anything but white cane sugar. Boil the water 3 minutes to sterilize it and then add 1/4 c sugar to 1 c water. Be sure to completely dissolve the sugar.

sorry no one got back to you, i,ve never heard of coconut sugar, but if it,s a natural sugar, it,s probably fine. hummingbirds are only in north, central, and south america. aren t we lucky?
