Chicken size predator bird

This one is the size of a full grown rooster. I thought what it was until it tuned and I saw the head profile. Hunting around on the ground just like a chicken.

It's a black turkey vulture NEW

We even have them on Long Island.

Hi Fred, I think your visitor is some kind of vulture. We have turkey vultures in the Northwest, but I don't know what lives on the East coast.

    Tourquoise bird, cardinal size and similar wing pattern and has a beige beak. Except for the beak color, looks like a Indigo Bunting. Is this a juvie??
