Cheeky Bird

by Christy
(San Ramon, CA)

There is a small brownish bird with a slight, matching crest. He is eating something on my newly budding oak tree. His song sounds like "cheeky bird", but he also sings other trills. I haven't ever heard this bird in 28 years in this house. I've looked in my books!

Could you give us some identification marks other than small brownish? We could use photos too if you have them. Thanks,
