There two of them trying to feed on the humming bird feeders, before I got the camera one had gone.


What is the name of this beautiful bird?

Hi, your beautiful bird is a Western Tananger. In breeding phase the male will have a bright reddish orange head and beard.

They do like fruit but usually eat it in the fall. She may think it's fruit and you could put some fruit preserves out but be certain it doesn't have high fructose corn syrup or preservatives. Fresh fruit would thrill them, I'm sure but be careful not to let it mold or spoil.
