brown stranger

We have seen this bird & 1 other like it at our backyard peanut feeder. It is mostly solid brown with small lighter colored spots on it's back, almost like a Starling. It has some light colored stripes in it's tail, a strong beak that is about the size of it's head. It is approx'ly the size of a Robin, but on the bigger side. It has a solid black eye & beak. Can anyone help identify this bird for me before I go nuts. Haven't been able to find a picture of it in any net search.
