Brown bird with crest

I am in a chicago suburb. Today i saw a brownish tan bird in my backyard. it had a very distinctive crest. at first i thought maybe a female cardinal but it had a black face mask. It had a black lower part of the wing and a red patch on the tip. Its rump was yellow. The last thing i noticed was a yellow pattern on the end of each tail feather. Pease help me identify this bird

From your description I would suggest it is a Cedar Waxwing.
