Bird blue head, white and grey body, very fluffy, in backyard in March on Connecticut. Anyone know what kind of bird this is?

The norning doves mate for life I believe. I always look for the partner and am a bit sad when I see one alone figuring perhaps the mate is no longer living. THE MALE NOT FEMALE has the iridescend pink/green around the neck. THe female does not have this.
One of the few to not lift their head when drinking water.

I agree that it looks like a puffed up morning dove. THe pink coloring around the neck, I beleive, distinguishes it's gender. I may be wrong but I think the female has the pink.

This is my favorite bird...a mourning dove. They are so special to me because they seem very gentle. They are patient, too. Sometimes they sit high up in a tree, waiting until others have finished eating, then they land to see if there are any leftovers.
