male birds March 2014

Does anyone know what these birds are. They are females & they come to drink out of the hummingbird feeders. I thought they were an Oriole, if so what kind of Oriole? The male is a vibrant deep yellow & black. The come usually come prior years in June thru September. Then they are gone till the next year. These were seen in Santa Maria,CA. This year I have seen the male in late March & now in May the female is making an appearance.

Are they migrating birds & if so where do they come from & where do they go? Thanks

That gorgeous fellow is a male Hooded Oriole. The other photo is the female Hooded Oriole. I believe they winter in Mexico.
