Bird with Blue Chest

by Gwen Ziegler
(Griffin Ga)

For about two or three days I have seen a bird at my ground feeder--(suet/meal worms). He has a blue chest and the black/wings are either a deep blue black or just black. I am unable to get a picture of this bird. I live in Griffin Ga... below Atlanta.

Hi Gwen,

I looked under "Birds of GA" but I didn't see much that would fit the description you gave. Birds are migrating north to their breeding grounds now and you are in the Atlantic Flyway so it may have been passing through; you may have many new visitors stop by on their way.

If you continue to see this bird, it will help if you let us know how large it is compare to a robin and anything else you notice. It was good that you shared the info about it eating off the ground, that kind of info helps a lot

I'm sorry I can't be of more help
