Bird that Chirps after Dark

I am not sure whether this is a bird. I am located close to Lake Huron and we have a bird that continuously chirps all night long.

I think it may be close to the ground, because our dogs hear the chirping and run along the fence to try to locate where the chirp is coming from. It is not a song, just a single continuous chirp all night long. Sometimes we have heard two chirping at one time.

Do you have an idea if this is a bird and what kind of bird? We have a pond that attracts a lot of birds.
