I do refrigerate/ or also freeze if I make up a bigger batch.

I was experimenting last winter and made several wreaths using spring form pans as molds.
Even added scraps of cotton for nesting.
It was fun, although I became a little obsessed for awhile there!

The birds love them...squirrels too those crafty devils : )

You used gelatin, so, do you refrigerate it before setting it out???

Well we live in Florida...but I have not ever made it in the summertime.
Not sure where you reside, but if it is north of here and placed in a partly shady location it should be fine.
I've heard that suet is not safe /goes rancid in the heat...I thought that was just for cold areas?

This sounds great but I have a question... Since there is no fat/suet can one assume this mixture will hold up in summer heat?
