Seems like a pair, pigeon size, white, brownish yellow, black, small beak , spotted somewhat, found near the shoreline in Maine

Judy, Thank you ! My friend Lorraine here in Maine took the photo, she is an amazing photographer but we did not know what they where - looked them up & yes, they sure look like that

I am pretty sure that they are Snow Buntings. They are actually only about 6 inches long.
