Bird hasn't moved in 24 hours

There is a bird that has been sitting in the grass across the street from my house for over 24 hours. It hasn't moved and didn't even move when we came across it lasst night. It was sunk down in the grass and just sitting there.

I feel bad for it and think its hurt. It seems weird that the bird has not moved an inch. I think it looks like a mourning dove.
I put some water in a lid and laid it beside the bird, but I'm afraid to move it to our yard because we have cats that would all too much love a bird in not so great shape to be hanging out in their yard. Is there anything that we can do for it?

In Brazil there's a bird who makes their nest on small holes in the grass, on the ground. They are very protective of their nests. Popularly known as quero-quero, their scientific name is Vanellus chilensis. Take a look here:

Could that be it?
