Beautiful yellow bird

Bright yellow and sings beautifully... Has a tail similar to wagtail. This bird was in garden last summer and has returned this Easter please someone tell me what is bird is.. Been through the rspb questionnaire and can't identify it

Pam, where is Dunfermline Fife? The bird in your photo looks like a domestic Canary. Is this the same bird you saw last year or another of the same kind? I have owned several canaries in the past, so that's why I think this could be someone's escaped pet.
