Female Pileated Woodpecker Pileated with wings spread

Yesterday I saw this female Pileated Woodpecker while visiting our friends near Mt. Rainier, WA. They said they have a couple of them daily at their suet feeders. I was so excited to catch it on my camera!

Isn't she beautiful. Great photo of her wingspan!

What kind of suet?
by: Jerry Downing

Been feeding suet for years but have never had pileated wood peckers at feeder. Are you using any special type of suet? Jerry
