Beautiful new bird

by Theresa
(Hephzibah,GA,USA)

This morning there was a new addition to our normal birds at the feeders. It is a little smaller than a tit mouse, and it's head is shiny black and throat and under side a beautiful shiny bright red. It fed and flew off into the woods. We live south east Georgia and are surrounded by woods. I'd love ato know what this bird is. Thanks.

Found It!

After much research I realized the bird I saw is the same one shown on the upper right hand corner of your home page. It was a little redder than orange but the same bird. It's an Orchard Oriole and has such a lovely song.

Comment
However...that is a Baltimore Oriole on my home page...
The Orchard Oriole is darker than the Baltimore and has less white in its wings. It is smaller. The Baltimore has orange on its tail. The Orchard oriole's song consists of high, rich whistles
