MEDIUM SIZE....NOT A SMALL BIRD, BLACK FEET, BEAK AND EYES, MORE ORANGE ON TOP OF HIS GOLD HEAD AND HIS CHEST WAS GOLD AND LOOKED LIKE A MASK OVER IT'E EYES. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A MALE BECAUSE THE GOLD WAS BRILLANT... IT ATE ON THE GROUND...NOT THE FEEDER ABOVE NOR DID IT EAT THE BREAD. STAYED ON THE GROUND ABOUT TWO HOURS.

Yes, Linda it is a beautiful bird and he's a Yellow-headed Blackbird. He is on his way north for the summer. Here in British Columbia, they haven't arrived yet. There are several pairs who summer here, in the reeds of the lake I live on. Hope you heard their song; it isn't the prettiest, but is certainly unique.
Enjoy them while they visit.
Susan
