Baby bird found

by Emily
(Ohio)

Outside our house we've noticed a small bird chirping and wandering around. We waited but it speared alone so we're taking care of him. We are curious what type of bird he is! Thanks :)

Cat NEW

Yeah unfortunately there is a cat prowling around but we have just been keeping a close eye out. He seems to be doing just fine! He seemed a little dehydrated but after some water seems happier and healthier :)

baby bird found NEW
by: Brook

Hi,

It is common for babies to leave the nest but Mom and/or Dad still brings them food. The birds that have left the nest, called fledglings, can stay in one place for several days or more but if they are not in danger it is best to leave them there so the parents can take care of them. If there is a danger such as a cat, dog, coyote, cars or such then place it in the closest safe place to where you found it. The parents will be very happy to see it again! It is extremely difficult to raise a young bird so that it will be able to survive in the wild.

Take Care and happy Birding! You have a good heart!
