Anyone know this bird from my description

by Jenny
(Charente in France)

My friend has seen a bird on her bird table in the Charente region of France and could not identify it. The head had a silver cap, the face and throat is near to royal blue and its chest was rusty orange. The beak was quite pointy. It was seen head on through binoculars so not a clue to its wings or back. The size was about the size of a blackbird. It did not feed but was fluffed up on its chest. No picture as she did not want to disturb it. Does anyone have a clue to its identity.
