Ant Problem with Hummingbird Feeder

by Taya

I have a ant problem.

Lots of ants come and eat the fruit and go to the hummingbird feeder and drink the nectar. Lots of them fall in so I have to clean it out and put more nectar in. What can I do to solve this problem?

Do you hang the feeder with the fish line? How do you use it? Am interested.

I use a shepherd hook to hang my feeder and grease it with vasoline or any grease that will stay.

If you have a pole your feeder is hanging from, then slap a bunch of axle grease on the bottom of the pole .. works fine for me..
