"Mom come fast - what is that bird?" Stopping dinner preparations to check out the visitors at our bird feeders is fairly normal at our house but but this time was a real treat. Having never seen a rose breasted grosbeak, we had to pull out the bird book to identify him. We were very excited. He was back numerous times throughout the day. By evening, we had identified two females as well. This morning we woke up to four pairs on our feeders. Such a treat. They don't seem to be picky and are eating from all our feeders. We have suet cakes, woodpecker bars and just your run of the mill cheap bird seed. We even watched them drink out of the hummingbird feeder. Not sure if they are here to stay or just passing through but we are sure enjoying them.
