A wild but friendly ruffed grouse

by Andre Jones
(Fort Plain, NY)

I have known "Ruffles" for more than a year. At first she attacked me, but with repeating my visits she has become more of a friend. I can call her by name and she comes, or she will seek me out when I'm in the woods. She likes to jump in my lap or on my head. We also play a game of "touch the tail and turn around" which she sometimes initiates. I have written a short story about "Ruffles" that can be found on Amazon. Andre Jones

Thank you for posting. You never know what bird encounter you will enjoy unless you take a walk into the fields or woods...so much for us to experience.

I think that's great Andre when we can connect with nature and wild life.
