A wild but friendly ruffed grouse

I have known "Ruffles" for more than a year. At first she attacked me, but with repeating my visits she has become more of a friend. I can call her by name and she comes, or she will seek me out when I'm in the woods. She likes to jump in my lap or on my head. We also play a game of "touch the tail and turn around" which she sometimes initiates. I have written a short story about "Ruffles" that can be found on Amazon. Andre Jones

I'm fascinated to see someone else with a crazy little bird! I too have a grouse who does the same in my family's forest. We named him Harold, and I'm not actually sure if he likes or hates us.

Thank you for posting. You never know what bird encounter you will enjoy unless you take a walk into the fields or woods...so much for us to experience.

    A relative went to HB class. They found it is safe and more effective to use 2 water to 1 sugar. I use 4 cups of boiling water into 2 cups sugar.
