A visit from a beautiful bird

I have a wooden feeder with a slightly peeked wooden top and glass in front and back where I fill with black oiled sunflower seeds. It hangs on my den window with suction cups. This past Spring I saw this beautiful bird eating at my feeder. I looked it up and found out it was a rose breasted grosbeak, it came to my window a few times during the day. Around my feeder I have bushes and pine trees but it is not a very heavy wooded area. I could actually watch this bird eat at my window, it was great! He came for three days straight to feed, but than I noticed he didn't come by again. Can you tell me if he will stop by on his way home for the winter months. I keep watching my window, he has not yet appeared. I remember reading somewhere that they sometimes do come back to visit before they make their journey home.
