These pictures are from 2011. I am anxiously awaiting the 2012 migration.
I began using a round terra cotta trough feeder, then added 'THe Bouncer" from Varicraft. Great feeder, almost completely squirrel proof.
I used the supreme blend from Wild Birds Unlimited. At first, there was just one female who bullied the feeder, scaring off other birds. A week later, there were more females, then the males came. All summer I had large flocks of Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, as they must have nested close by. I once had 4 young males watching from a nearby tree as the mom taught her youngsters to feed there.
